Even when I wasn't a believer I didn't pay attention to VMAT2, Dr Hamer's god gene. I had to go to Wikipedia.

Given that there are several genes involved in skin colour (which is measurable objectively), I would be more sympathetic to a popular treatment if it had listed, minimum, three genes which caused this effect. Just one gene isn't enough. For just one gene, you're supposed to submit your work into a refereed journal, and to warn off any passing journalists.

Here's a witticism for your (well, Cleese's) audience: The Gene That Accounts for Less Than One Percent of the Variance Found in Scores on Psychological Questionnaires Designed to Measure a Factor Called Self-Transcendence, Which Can Signify Everything from Belonging to the Green Party to Believing in ESP, According to One Unpublished, Unreplicated Study. Wow, what a great site. I just went through and read/looked at everything posted. Many thanks for sharing these things. I was looking up your church to see if I could get a protestant friend to visit -- he lives close. I'll be checking back weekly!

Tomorrow will be my first mass at your church since I am new to the area. Nevertheless, and reading thru the comments previously posted on the blog, I do firmly believe in the separation of state and church, BUT, not expressing our discomfort or objective point of views on different government issues that affect our community as a whole, will also go against our freedom of expression right, clearly stated in our constitution.

We should be more focussed in addressing our local issues, and wheter we agree or disagree with our new President, it is time to only ask our Lord to give him the knowledge, and the direction to lead us all.
